The important ones are murine typhtis fever, plague, salmonellosis, leptospirosis, rat bite fever.
Bed bugs are challenging pests to control. Bed bugs are found worldwide in association with human habitations. Bed bugs are blood sucking insects, both nymphs and adults feed on sleeping or sedentry humans mostly at night. Natural enemies of bed bugs include ants, spiders, mites, centipedes. Bed bugs are light brown in colour and about 4-5mm long and extremely flat. they are carried one place to another in transported goods. Thses are natural pests and during the day these insects hide in cracks, small gaps, cavities under mattress, sheets, behind wallpapers, etc. They may cause severe skin inflammation.
House files acts as a vector and transmit diseases. there are about 200 species of fleas known world wide. Most common is cat flea(tenocephalides felis), occur on both cats and dogs, bites human as well. it carry and transmit bacterium, yersinia pestis, the casual agent of bubonic plague. The fleas often causes serious allergies in infected animals and humans. Houseflies are responsible for spreading diseases like typhoid, cholera, dysentery and many other diseases.
Mosquitoes are vectors responsible for the diseases like malaria, filariasis, dengue, chikungunya, etc. They can be called as a number one public health pests.
